A PLace in the Sun - Whats the point?

Re: A PLace in the Sun - Whats the point?
The worst thing about these programs are the way the production team take advantage of families and make them look even more than a bunch of losers than they already are. The most vulnerable are taken advantage of.
It's a standard recipe. Can you imagine the awkwardness if a family actually were reasonably intelligent, incisive, informed and presented better than the presenter - they would not have a programme.

There is a programme called 'Escape to The Country' which has a nice line in featuring Little Englanders all desperate to buy in the country. They are much the same, ordinary but desperate to escape that ordinariness - do you see the resemblance...?
Every time they get shown a room in a prospective house all they can say
is
"Lovely"
"Nice aspect" (they've obviously been watching way to many reno programmes).
or they turn their noses up at what is quite adequate - they want character but most would not see character if it was staring them in the face. One bloke said he was looking for a 'Vicar of Dibley' village - as soon as he said that - his credibility went out the window.
