Phoning an Aussie mobile from UK??
Do I?
start off 00-61 then the 10 digit number;
start off 00-61-3 (for Vic) and then the 10 digit number;
do I drop the zero and just hack in the last 9 numbers;
or something else?
I tried to ring my brother's mobile with all possible permutations I could think of and either got 'number not recognised', silence or a continuous whine!
Suggestions gratefully received!

As per other reply it is 0061 then drop the first zero. If you are calling from a mobile suggest that you don't use the + sign but type in the 00. You could also try sending a text first. Sometimes they arrive and sometimes they don't.
Good luck

Thanks for the replies, the one permutation I didn't try! I'm calling from a landline so its 00-61 and the mobile number without the zero I'll try.

yup.... mobily number will begin 04 so you want 00614********
and you should get through no bother. and if that doesn't work then maybes is a aus mobile problem!

Unless your paying less than 13p per min, give http://www.telediscount.co.uk/accessnumbers.php a go ...
1p per min to landlines ...
