Phone calls from Dima

Hi, Just reading a couple of threads and people have mentioned Dima phoning their work, just before being given grant letter. Two questions on this.

1) do they always phone your work place before granting visa or is this just an occasional occurance?
2 )why do they phone them, is it to check up on you?

Thanks vwboomerdog.

Didnt with us. Neither is this commonplace. I would not concern yourself.

My husband hadn`t told his boss that we had applied and when he went in
to work one day after a day off, his boss said he had had a phone call from
the Australian High Commission in London asking what my husbands job was
with the company and how long he had worked there etc. Basically they
were checking up on him. This was a few weeks before we were granted
our visa`s and wasn`t a problem but a bit awkward for my husband who had
to come clean.
I don`t think that this is really that common though, I think they just do it at
random.
