i guessed about £1500 with quarantine and vet inspections , so £1000 for a flight is about what i expected ,
ps if i run the car over her cat the week before we go ,we could buy a new cat out there and be £1495 better off!!
but the thought of ending my days as a u-nuck puts me off the latter option somewhat !! :D

As far as we're concerned she's one of the family. You wouldnt expect anyone to leave a kid behind because of the cost so why a pet? And yes, maybe it is a lot of money but a drop in the ocean compared to what has already been spent on TRA, Visa, shipping our stuff, etc etc etc.

My main worry is that my cat is a hunter.......and brings me mice every other day.
I would be very upset spending the time apart and then the money...... to have him try and catch a funnel web and get bit and die.

For me it is safer for him to stay alive in this country although we will be apart.........

Or am i wrong. Will he not get affected by the poison ?

Cats are immune to funnel web poison (there was a Discovery prog about it).

How much does the quarantine cost?

I thought some places included that in the price?
