Phillip Island
Is there anyone out there that lives on Phillip Island nr Melbourne?
We spent Xmas 2000 in Cowes and thought it a lovely place.
I thought I may torment myself and have an idle look at the
rental situation there and was pretty surprised how cheap they
were in contrast to many other places.
This left me wondering why?
I know it's an island so employment is an issue and I hear the
place goes a bit mad when the bike racing is on but still.
Is there something wrong with the place that we're missing?

It is a nice place, we stayed just out of cowes and I found it a better spot than Mornington, for a break. More things to do and the beaches were great.
While it is a long drive (about 2 hours) the roads are basically motorway/dual carriageway 90% of the way.

We just got back from a weekend break. My wife is now reviewing realestate.com to buy a weekend batch

out the real estate as we were backpacking at the time.
We're pretty open as to where we live because I can make an income
via the web.
We just have to make sure our kids are catered for.
Just wondered what it would be like to live there.
