Default Petrol Prices Cahnge Daily.

I'm in work sat next to an Aussie who reckons, petrol starts cheap every Thursday and increases each day till Wednesday, then comes down again.

Is this true and why does it happen?

(He may have the days wrong).

Paul.

Yeah, they can change rapidly, that much I remember. It was on here a while ago and someone gave a believeable reason... but I cant for the life of me remember what it is!!!

A girl I live with used to drive around to find the cheapest one when she was filling up.... personally I don't see the point as you're only going to save yourself a couple of bucks and probably spent that much driving around

it gets more expensive towards the weekend as demand increases for fill ups before heading off for the weekend

It's true.

I fill my diesel at 96.6c a litre. In the city it is 97-102.
I drive there on the way home.

(It was 88c in January, and 96-97c in Sydney the day before.)

At the Safeway Servo near me it's at 88 cents a litre (with your 4p off petrol docket of course). I haven't seen it any cheaper for ages.
Once we move, I'm still going to fill up there as the local Safeway Servo is dearer (and it's only about 5km away).

Regards
