Which day will you be buying on?

Petrol prices change from day to day...depending on the area, you can have expensive Tuesday, cheap Wednesdays etc etc. Form memory, when we were there in Feb/Mar, it was around $1.30-40. There are a couple of websites that have constant updates for prices in the local area. Just google petrol prices australia or city.

Here is the web site I use to find the cheapest.

http://motormouth.com.au/pricesearch...egion=Brisbane

It's one of the biggest cons going in Oz yet the gov claim it's fair competition yet all the companies move in step on a weekly basis. Labor screamed blue murder about it when in opposition but once in Gov they quietly forgot about it.

Yeah, so much for the random cycle, is that a regular pattern or what?

It's regular, right up until its not.

They change the pace, skip a beat, etc. every so often - just when people think they know when the cheap days are.

That's what pisses me off. We used to have Cheap Tuesday without fail, now there's no knowing when it's going to be at it's lowest. I've got into the very irritating habit of seeing a price that's not too bad and getting about $20 worth hoping that the next day it will be lower but if it's not at least having enough to last until the next possible dip.

There isn't a fuel cycle in Canberra apparently, just a coincedence that half the population work for the Government and are paid fortnightly and fuel price's peak the day before payday

It's like timing the stock market, you can't win. Even the people who own the filling stations don't know what they will pay tomorrow.
