The biggest shock for me is the lack of trees on these new estates. I feel seriously uneasy in them - like ghost towns. I can talk though, some of mine have chainsaw blight.

The thing is, they should look different in 10-15 years. You'd hope.

Even the ones 2/3 years old look very different.

I agree with Vash - if you like what you saw bugger anyone else, its horses for courses. We have just bought in Butler - love the schools, parks , proximetity to the sea, and Perth is spreading rapidly so burbs are becoming closer to the city

We also like NOR - we are currently renting in Dianella not sure where to buy or what we can afford.

I have seen lots of people slating NOR saying SOR is best but I don't agree, not sure what SOR has to offer that is better that NOR but then it all comes down to choice.

Don't be guided by anyone - wait until you get out here - rent a place for 6 months and then just look around and see how you feel.

We chose here because of family and to be close to city for work.

We live in Ridgewood ! most people have never heard of it, but its a small estate next to Clarkson & about to be joined with Butler. Its an older more established estate, lots of trees & plenty of Aussies as our neighbours. Its also more affordable than Butler & the blocks are bigger.
