I guess Townsville has the warmer all year round temperature.

But Perth is a more of a cosmopolitan city.

Perth is not for everyone ,not as cosmopolitan as say Sydney or Melbourne ,they dont call Perth the sleepy city for nothing,i.e not much goin on.

But in comparison with Townsville Perth is cosmopolitan .

recently been to Townsville but not Perth.
Townsville strand was great but didnt get a feel for anything else. seemed to spread out and nothing central. not much outside townsville either. was a bit isolated. saying that I could have lived there but the wife had a different opinion and they are always right.

Thanks. Yeah I heard Cairns would be a better place to check out than Townsville. but I guess Townsville has the jobs. Heard there were plenty of jobs in Perth as well.

My friend backpacked up the east coast about 10yrs ago, since then he has always referred to Townsville as "sh*tsville". But that was 10yrs back.

My OH currently living between TV & Cairns due to work & he much prefers Cairns.

I heard there was work in TV but that most people recommended Cairns.

It would be a strange person indeed that would rate Townsville over Cairns..

Unusual to have to pick between these two cities and both are wanting,but at a pinch would go for Perth. Cairns isn't too far north of Townsville,again with some reservations would most likely decide on going there.
