a perth thread for a change!!(water)
 
We went up to mundaring weir on monday night..

the water levels were lower than i have seen them in three years?

is it me or has it not rained much this year?

It has not rained much this year so far - but that's normal.

Last year, Mundaring was the fullest I have seen it - it's not a very important dam for Perth anyway.

I think that, overall, the water situation is not too bad.

have to agree there mate,yes it was quite close to the top..the railway sleepers are well exposed this year!!!

eh champ,were dead lucky to have those kind of places on our doorstep eh?

'.... not too bad' !! Thats why the sprinkler/hosepipe has been extended.

'As announced by Water Minister Graham Jacobs, the winter sprinkler ban is here to stay.

When: 1 June to 31 August 2010

Where: Perth-Mandurah area and the South-West

Who: Applies to garden bores, scheme and over 600 licensed water users'

I actually agree with the winter ban - watering your garden in winter is a bit of overkill. Save the water for the summer.

From what I have read/heard, water management in WA is far superior to the rest of the country.

went there in feb and it was the fullest Ive ever seen it- no sign at all of the rail tracks
