Hi good luck with the process. I think OH will be ok in both of these areas (although I am by no means an expert). I have just come back from our reccie to Perth and know for definate (confirmed by other posters on here) that Perth is seeing a huge building boom at the moment so all trades are really highly in demand and are supposedly getting great wages. Queensland I don't know much about, sorry. Hope this helps a little.

Electricians are in short supply all over Australia.
The catch is getting a licence to "operate" as you would wish.

That's quite a big comparison though - Perth is a city and Queensland's a massive state.

Really depends on which part of Queensland, we're on the Gold Coast and this place is booming and will be for a good few years to come. Not enough of any trades here to meet the demands, but I'm sure thats true of most of Oz. OH will need to get safety cards and license but should be straight forward enough.

Good luck

You should come to the Gold Coast, your husband will find work straight away and your kids with thank you for the rest of their lives as theres so much to do here.

If its down to money,i think Perth would pay more but ive come across a few people who are now here as they felt isolated in Perth in comparison to the locality of everything on the eastcoast.

Its a nice dilema to have!Lol.

Yes, but there's bugger all else in Western Australia apart from Perth. Lots of areas in Queensland that the OP could settle

Uk - sorry is that not an option. Am homesick so would pick UK every time! Good luck with your decision though. We visited Perth on our reccie last year and thought it was a lovely place to live. We ended up picking Queensland and the Sunshine coast but I am sure both areas have lots to offer. If you can find the money to visit both before I would recommend it as it is down to personal taste so don't go too much on what people say on here.
Good luck and have fun!!

I don't even bother replying to rubbish like that anymore ohippy. It's not worth the effort.

Oi, I was stating a fact and not having a go at Perth. If you can tell me other places in WA that offer good employment prospects and all the other stuff expats want then go ahead.
The OP has asked Perth or Queensland, sorry if you think Perth has got more to offer than Queensland, it hasn't.
