We shouldn't forget that this is the President of REIWA talking - the industry body for estate agents in WA. It is hardly an objective point of view. It is this guys job to drum up the market.

Price of houses in Perth may top Sydney
http://www.thewest.com.au/default.as...ContentID=9774

"A report released last month by one of the world’s biggest investment banks, Merrill Lynch, which compared house prices with household incomes in each city, found Perth’s extraordinary property boom had made it one of the most expensive cities in the world."

yet another perspective.

In summary, Perth is now the world's fifth most expensive city relative to income.

Will it remain so? Will it reach the number one spot? Or will it sink to more 'normal' levels?
