From the Northern Suburbs there is a cycle path which more or less runs parallel to the Mitchell Freeway all the way to the city. There are a few parts where it crosses over the fway and back again a few kms further on. Once you've done it a few times you get to know some parts where its quicker to go by road. I used to ride in from Woodvale - took about 45 mins.

Be really cool if they put in a track in the middle of the freeway, next to the railway line and made it bikes only. You could entertain the rush hour traffic by mooning at them as you speed past!
