Saw it also....nothing new.A little sensationist perhaps but then again it does happen and it is good people are aware that Perth is made up of far more than easy going relaxed and friendly people as some may be inclined to think.
Perth has a good share of very angry people and there can certainly be an edge to night times in this city.(often but not only booze related.)

Never been to Perth. But a couple of observations:
1) That's Today Tonight, which has all the journalistic credentials of Whizzer and Chips
2) Go to any city or large town and you'll see exactly the same things - not just in Oz either - any 'western' style country.
3) Booze turns people into wankers.
4) One of those coppers sounded like he was from Leeds.

It is becoming a lot more like the UK over here in perth, the same yob attitude is well rooted here.
Theres the same idea that beer is great and getting pissed out your face and throwing up on the street is the thing to do, its just that its getting started here where as in the uK its been that way for a long time

Give it a few years I am sure we will have gangs of knife wielding hoodies hanging around in the city at all hours, hassling people, then it will be just like the uk

Northbridge is a shit tip after 2am on a weekend ...

If there was an actual transport system in place that allowed the public to go home on a staggered basis, ie a f***ing decent train service throughout the night (24 hrs love them), then maybe crowds would disperse throughout the early hours of the morning a little more evenly instead of just hanging around being f***ing narky waiting for taxi's (oh, by the way ... they don't exist in Perth on weekends ... just so you know).

I give up on this Govt. and their policies ... useless pr!cks.

Operation Nightsafe ... poor rozzers have NO chance.

Well after living in Northbridge for 3 years I can honestly say it is worse for anti-social behaviour, graffiti and crime than where I lived in North Lundon.
Weekends are a riot with the hoons pissed up kids and fights, but being as it is the only place in perth that is not brain-dead…I stay.

Thats not bad!!!! nothing like bad...no cs gas, tasers, dogs, or mounted police! if you think thats bad, get to Skegness on a week night. The plod there wear helmets with visors and stab vests not bicycle helmets .
No doubt someones gonna whinge...
