Default Perth best location?

Hi

I am going to Perth for a holiday in June and have decided to book a short term rental instead of a hotel

I have found suitable properties in Clarkson, Hilliarys, Padbury and Mullalo and wondered which of them is the best location wise. We will be hiring a car and will visit various places during the day but wont be driving on an evening and will probably just go somewhere local for a meal and a few drinks.

Thabks in advance

Claire

Hi Claire,

We stayed in Mindarie this time last year and are going back there again this June.

Its not far from Clarkson and about 15 mins or so drive to Hillarys. There is also some nice pubs and stuff in Mindarie's little harbour which are nice and wont be too far of a walk back after a few drinks.

Cant really comment on Padbury or Mullaloo only that the latter has got a decent beach to go to.

We have gone for Mindarie as it seems a nice area and not too far from Ocean Keys shopping centre.

What dates are you going over in June?

If you want to walk somewhere for a meal in the evening stay in Hillarys. There are lots of restaurants in the Sorrento Boardwalk in Hillarys Harbour.

Details here in attached file:

Given it will be winter and June is generally one of the wettest months I would stay somewhere where there's more things around especially if your wanting to walk around at night, I would look in Freo or central Perth. from the locations above you'd only really consider Hillarys or Mindarie both being on the water/beach. Your not going to be on the beach at this time of year so I would think you'll spend the bulk of your time driving elsewhere, so dont really see any benefit of choosing to be located there.

I would say Hillarys there is so much more going on, you have WHitfords shopping centre, Sorrento/HIllary Quay - major tourist attraction. Everything is central. Padbury is nice and a lot cheaper especially if you came to buy. Mullaloo has a great beach and the beach hotel/pub ( which has seen a number of fights recently!) butnice place. Mindaire has a harbour which is lovely. If I had a choice would say Hillarys. If you dont mind me asking could you pass on the website/details where you found the rentals please would appreciate it for a friend

Hi

We came back from our reccie at the beginning of March and stayed in Mindarie. Obviously, it will be different for you at this time of year but we thought Mindarie was amazing. It has a gorgeous marina with a handful of lovely restaurants, a fab beach, a couple of local shops (small supermarket and patisserie) and a lovely park at the centre. Hillary's is about 15 minutes drive south. Hillary's does have more to offer in terms of restaurants etc but we thought Mindarie was much, much nicer and hope to be able to afford to live there one day!

Have a lovely time.

Hillarys is an awesome spot to count the English football shirts from the locals/tourists. Pound to a penny youlll get at least 1 a minute on a warm day. 20 mins from Perth city tho so you cant knock the location!

Very good, true. I've also noticed LOADS of graffiti in Hillarys in the last few weeks.

We stayed in Hillarys a couple of years ago and yes there is lots to do but everywhere shut at 7pm.
Mindarie/clarkson has the pubs, restaurants, shopping centre and train station if you are wanting to go out without the car.
