Default Personal Question for the Ladies...

Would a disease like 'severe dyskariosis' from your smear results stop you getting to NZ, even when you've been given the all-clear and are on 6 monthly check-ups?

Sorry to the guys if this is too squemish a question for you to have read....

Never heard of it ( thankfully) but I would suppose that if you have been given the all clear you should be ok re meds.

Oh, a scary thing to have, then.

I would have thought you would have been OK as you are clear and having checks - someone who has had or got some kind of health problem might be able to help more.

Jack was wondering what had happened to your young 'un - I miss her fantastic open ended questions!

I had laser treatment for pre-cancerous cells and had no probs at the medical as long as you can prove you have had clear smears since you should be ok

Yeh I was the same, had it done about 12 years ago, luckily still clear.

Dont know if you have to take a letter from GP with you though, as its so close I would presume so.

Kath

Dunno if I need to though, as it was 12 years ago???

Default nosuckluck/Kath..

thanks for your replys,

Would be intrested to hear if you spoke to the doc's about this 'nosuch'?

Trouble is 'severe' needed more than laser treatment, and i naturally stay at a higher risk.....Been fighting for a hysterectomy, but with 4 kids and the birthing days already over, apparantly I'm 'too young'!:scared:

Can't beleive you have to fight for a hysterectomy because someone deems you "too young".I am 31 and had it done just before Christmas.
Although my circumstances are different to yours I still believe that if you have something wrong with your health that's making you ill physically,or hanging over you because it may come back and need recurring treatment ,then you should have the right to be well regardless of your age.
:lecture: That's my opinion anyhow
As regards affecting your visa all I had to do was present a GP letter and a Specialist letter stating that I'd had all the tests and it wasn't cancer, what I was having done to make me well and expected recovery time etc etc and took them to the meds with me.
Got our visas so in my experience no problems.I have a list as long as your arm of ill health past and present and was just upfront about all of it.Hope this helps a little.

Default Mrs Neal & Sky....

Thankyou, both, for your replies.....

We will carry on fighting, this was only found in asking for a Vasectomy, and had it not, was told, dramatically, could have been 'dead' :scared: within 5 years!

34, here, family complete, consultant says, " I can make you better, no need for hysto..."

As for visa', thankgod, will have other kid problems as it is, think this could be a long process for us......

Again, thankyou both.....x

Consultants they are so good with words arent they ... mine just said yes severe cervical errosion, and pre cancerous cells, my mind was just reeling and all I could focus on was the CANCER word.

Hi there. I was guided to your thread after I posted one similar today on Auz Immigration forum. I am applying for Austarlian visa class 138 and have had severe abnormal cells operated on, not Dyskariosis but the glandular version (CGIN not CIN), I had 2/3rd of my cervix removed, I didn't opt for a hysterectomy as I have 3 children and would like some more maybe in the furture.

I didn't know whether to declare this on the initial application form as it isn't as such 'cancer'....can you maybe advise what you did? I have not, so far, had any follow up appointments since my operations, but have one at the end of next month, so I don't fully know if I am clear at the moment. I'd hate for this to mess up our chances, especially knowing that if I had a hysterectomy, I wouldn't have the worry....

Oh and 3 children and age 30...I was pushed to have a hysterectomy, but turned it down....I don't know why these things change from health authority to health authority, maybe its because ours weren't quite the same, but anyway...I hope you get everything you wish for...and that you stay in the clear!

Lou
