Perhaps a silly question. Wiring on an internal wall.
Hi ya,
We've been in oz just a few months. The ne builds over here in WA seem different to the UK. We had Foxtel around to our rented place only to find that the walls were solid (internal wall). This kinda put paid to us having it installed in this rented place. The thing is we are buying a house and would like to do some wiring things. ie put a couple of tv points in on internal walls and perhaps even try and be a bit more discreet with surround sound system wiring. How do you go about doing this on internal walls. Is it a case of channelling out then replastering. Not sure if anyone has any bright ideas. Is this standard here?
Thanks in advance.

Hi poppet,
We work on lot of new build houses, a lot if not all internal walls are solid construction, so you will have to channel out and replaster, unless you can get down conduit to light switches or sockets. A lot of electricians don,t install conduit to switches so this may not be an option. The other option is to install wiring on external walls which have a cavity.
