Damn! Knew there was something I was meant to be doing!!!
Shoes are fine. The Jeyes fluid wasn't a problem really. It was dropping my designer shoe into a bath full of hot soapy water that upset me the most.

It's because of the strict quarantine laws. No mud, dirt or grass etc...to be on anything. That's why Oz doesn't have BSE, Foot and Mouth or rabies etc...
They ask if you've been on a farm in last six months and stuff when landing in Oz as well.
