Just joined this forum how ya all goin? so where all ya people living in perth, im living in Lynwood aye......
apparently i herd loads of english ppl r living in joondalop. never been there myself but is it true that its an english area?

oh yeh if anyone could help me out...... any1 no of sum real good pubs, ive been enjoying freo lately, but herd there is a few good ones in subi and northbridge

I'm in Inglewood near Mt Lawley. There are some great pubs around here. Queens & The Flying Scotsman are pretty cool. In Northbridge I like The Mustang (rough & ready but good fun, just come back from there actually ) & The Elephant & Wheelbarrow. There is an Irish pub, Rosie O'Grady's but I find it a bit unfriendly & clicky, much prefer the Aussie style pubs.

There are too many poms up north for me. I went to look at showhouses last weekend & every one I went to had poms looking at them. The areas I like so far are Floreat, Wembley Downs, Scarborough & Trigg.

Ain't cheap that's for sure . I find a lot of the northern suburbs sterile & bland. At the moment I think we will try to buy close in to the city or move right out into the sticks. It's early days though, I've only been here 3 weeks.

Agree entirely on the Northern suburbs ...

Been around one, you've been around them all.

It's my opinion that if you are happy living in somewhere like Mindarie for example, a minimum of 30 mins out of the city, you may as well go the whole hog and move an hour outside and gain some land.

If not, splash the cash and move nearer the action !

I think it's safe to assume somebody who doesn't speak English as their first language wouldn't be posting with English text message abbreviations.

I lived in Wanneroo, Woodvale and then Joondalup during my time in Perth. yes there are a lot of English people in Joondalup, but I didn't mind that so much.

I would go to the 'Old Bailey' in Joondalup, 'Moon & Sixpence' in Woodvale, 'The Boat' (think it is Mindarie???)

To be honest, I didn't go pubbing very often, when I lived there as it was more the norm, to have BBQ's or people round for casual drinks. Whenever I go back on holiday, it is a case of 'get me out of the pub!' as I am always nipping in there to catch up with people. Since most of my friends (in Australia) are poms, we'd always seem to meet up at an English style pub. I don't believe in all hanging out together (and moaning about Australia...) We just seemed to meet because it was the local for us. Most of the Aussie pubs in Joondalup have changed in the time I have been in England and so I just felt more easy going to the pubs I knew.

I think, you really have to go and explore with Perth. I mean, my Brother prefers Morley and Tuart Hill to live and likes being closer to Perth, Whereas I envisage living in either Edgewater, Joondalup or Iluka when I return home.
