A SUICIDE bomber is thought to have detonated the powerful car bomb that ripped apart sections of a luxury Jakarta hotel yesterday, killing at least 13 people and injuring 150.

Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer said the attack could be linked to the Bali nightclub bombings.

Shattered glass and puddles of blood covered the ground for two blocks around the American-owned Marriott Hotel, which is popular with foreigners.

Well the probability of either an australian or a english resident being blown up by a terrorist bomb is very remote. You have heard about the IRA ceasefire haven't you? And it depends which part of Spain you go on holiday.

At the height of the IRA/Loyalist terrorist attacks in the 70s or 80s you were hundred times more likely in northern ireland (let alone mainland britain) to die in a car accident than from a terrorist attack. If you won't put things in perspective than that is your problem.

The chance of being injured in a terrorist incident in Australia is even more remote than in the UK. I cannot even think of a terrorist incident in Australia, since 2nd World War.

No Aussies were Killed in New York dream on , Australia has not been a target because they keep their heads down ,that has now changed , arse licking to the Yanks has cost 85 Australian lifes and will cost more .
