The mortgage rate in both the UK and Aus are higher than the base rate.
Unemployment is 5.4% in the West Midlands and 6.4% in Western Australia. But the population does not compare.
In numbers there is far more unemployment in the UK.

Do not even mention Australia is booming and still has higher dole figures than the UK which on a down turn , you should also look at wages in Australia not a very pretty picture but you can stay idle on the beach not right now its bloody raining and cold , how is it in the UK?
