Patterson Lakes

Hi,

Was wondering what Patterson Lakes is like to live in. I have just watched an immigration programme which featured Patterson Lakes and the Mrs and I thought, yes, we like it.

What are school like? What is the nite life like? Are facilities good for families, ie leisure centres etc?

Hoping to immigrate within the next 18 months,

Hi,

Its west of Cranbourne and slightly north of Frankston , in an area south west of Melbourne heading for the Mornington Peninsula.

Hope that helps,

Crocodileseamus:)

It's nice. We visited Patto during our reccie and like it. There's a mix of posh Waterfront properties with their own boat moorings, regular houses, town houses and apartments. It had a reputation of being a bit yuppy when it was first built and was kind of scorned however the yuppies have moved on or had families of their own and it's matured for the better.

Carrum Station is nearby and it's close to the coast. I would estimate a drive time of 45mins to the city. It was originally a swamp and the channels were widened and deepened by the developers so that residents can sail/motor from their houses to Port Phillip Bay. There's a 'parade' of shops, take-aways and restaurants close by. The Indian restaurant is meant to be ok there. The nearby beach is fine and isn't commercialised.

Not a bad place to settle but I prefer the Mornington Peninsula a bit further down, that is, Mt.Eliza, South Frankston and Mt.Martha.

Had also thought of the Mornington Peninsula, which was our initial choice.

We have never been to Oz, but are wishing to immigrate and just have a look around, we know we want the seasons that Victoria has to offer and we also want the outdoor lifestyle with the 4 kids.

Was watching that show about the Davies family from Wales who had settled in Patterson Lakes and it just looked devine.

I really don't know where we'll end up, but we do know it will be East of Melbourne, along the Peninsula or somewhere, don't know.
