As this thread was taken over, and the original question ignored, I have bumped it, so the lady might get an answer to a good question.

We had an open house too, as did some friends. Simply ask guests to bring some food and drink, nobody expects you to do all the work.

Re: Party,any suggestions?
Hi,
We left in August and as we had moved out of our house weren't sure what to do. We had a load of different groups of friends who had never really met up as well and as we wanted to see all of them we had an open invite to "Party in the Park". Everyone came to Reigate park, brought their own picnic and wine and beer, all the kids came too and we played rounders, cricket and tennis. Everyone came and went as they pleased, some stayed a short while, others stayed all day - it was all pretty relaxed and lots of fun and apart from supplying our own picnic there was no catering or washing up! Of course we had to rely on the weather - fortunately it was a lovely day.
We did end up with another surprise party 2 days before we left but we had nothing to do with that one!
Just enjoy yourselves whatever you decide.
