Still trying to figure out when you can legally u-turn in QLD. Must go read the website in detail...
Ops $60 and 2 points.
You must only make a U-turn when necessary.
You can make a U-turn if:
you have a clear view of approaching traffic
you can safely make a U-turn without obstructing the free movement of traffic
there are no signs or road markings prohibiting a U-turn.
Do not make a U-turn at traffic lights, unless there is a sign that states you can.

Ignorance of the rules is no excuse. Well not one that will be accepted by the law anyway.
