Default parents visa

Hi all

Can anyone tell us how long we have to be "settled" in oz, before the parents can start applying for their visas?

Cheers

Have you/they thought about a 410 Retirement visa to get them to Australia and then applying for a permanent Contrib Parent visa once they are there?

Info about the Retirement visa is here:
http://www.australia.org.uk/VTI/HTML/410_ret.html

Best regards.

Thanks Alan

I'll pass this info onto them. They are in a difficult situation as my brother, who is younger than me still lives at home, but is not dependent on my parents.
He doesn't meet the sol list, so they are torn between the two, although given the chance my brother would be out there asap.

Cheers

Once you're out there for 2 years can't you sponsor your brother, then your parents will have all surviving children in Oz.
