Parched peas
 
I used to have these when younger, growing up in Lancashire but have yet to find them over here. Has anyone seen them, they are also known as pigeon peas, black peas, Carlings, maple peas

I think you will have to find a store that sells Maple peas (or grow them) and them make em yourself...I remember them too....soo good....

Google has lots of recipes...
