Just done a quick google and it says although they're mainly on the east coast they have been reported in WA.... doesnt say where though....

I used to buy mine from vets in the six pack ($83)as it was a little cheaper than the 3 pack but have now found it on ebay, all brands, nearly $30 dollars cheaper. For 6 pack of 25 kilo plus I paid £54 inc postage.

Yeah, much cheaper - we tried Sacha's Blend for our old girl for a while and it was about 30% cheaper online from vetshop.

When I get my dog I am going to give him the yearly vaccination for heartworm as it is important that no time lapses between treatment.

Apparantly dogs have to be blood tested prior to any treatment being given, does anyone that lives in the Perth area have any idea of the cost of this blood test - just trying to get everything in order and organised for him.

The rescue kennels charge a fee which includes castration/vaccination and identichip but I am sure it wont include heartworm.

Any advice would be great.:thumbup:

Hi rescue kennels can give you reduced castration/chip fees but it as you think does not include heartworm. Which I have been told by my vet is best done once yearly to dogs(not puppies under 1)some other vets may prefer monthly doses, like you it is easier to give it yearly and they send reminders.
Once a dog has been de sexed/ chipped you will then need to register it with local council at $40 for lifetime in our area(NSW) if not desexed much more expensive. They will also add it to register in case you lose it.
Keep on top of flea/tick treatments and with a quick daily check of your dogs coat you will hopefully keep chance of tick iparalysis to a minimum.

The $300 we are paying for Rocky includes castration/worming/vaccination/identichip.

Ive found out the blood test will cost $63 and then the heartworm injection is on top of that.

Do dogs have to be registered in WA?
