Panic....Dog's tested positive!
Hi folks,
I totally stressed out now....Our Dog has tested positive at 1:100 but negative at 1:400...for the Lepto. I can't believe it. I'm totally freaking out. I know he can be re-tested but I'm upset... He had to get his vaccinations as he was over the year. Our vet assured us that he would get them without the Lepto (praying that this was the case)....
Does anyone have a link to Paul and Nics thread....I can't seem to find it right now as I'm in a bit of a panic.....
Cheers

I know it's not a brilliant situation, but you can get round it.

From Paul&Nic's post it would appear that we just have to wait for the retest and hope the levels stay the same or drop......Fingers crossed.

14 days.....Vet's phoning Shippers tomorrow. His official bloods aren't due till 25th April. This was just a trial run to see what his levels were!!! It was just over a year since his last vaccinations so we had to get them done (requested the vet administer them without Lepto) 15th February.....Bloods for Lepto were checked 5th April so we just need to wait and see what the bloods on 25th April say.....If there's a rise then it might be that the Vet has administered vaccs with Lepto (or Dog has strong antibodies).
Yet another stressed out waiting game.....God I think I'm getting chest pain with all this!
Cheers

Thanx Gill,
Panic easing slightly, as you say there's nothing I can do....The worst comes we'll look at putting him to kennels or something until he can come out...
