I just did mine last month in Drogheda, medical cost about 90 Euro, still haven't got the bill for the X-Ray. I arranged the medical, thinking they would arrange the X-Ray for me but alas no, they gave me the phone number of the X-Ray department and I arranged it myself for a couple of days later. When complete they sent my X-Ray and reports to the doctor where I picked them up and then mailed them on to Adelaide.
By the way for your Police Certificate, you'll need your full birth-cert. The police check took about 3 weeks to come back, also check out the FAQ's at http://www.garda.ie .
