Painters Melbourne

I was considering doing an Apprentiship in Painting/Decorating and was wondering -
1 - how long will it take (surely its not that difficult is it)
2 - how much money can i expect to earn once i'm qualified??

Thanks.

Re: Painters Melbourne

Just asked my painter in NE Suburbs of Melbourne.

3 year junior apprenticeship starts off at around $150pw rising each year, eg. $250 per week in second year.

At the end of apprenticeship can expect $25ph.

Less good jobbing painters or people working for smaller firms can get around $30 per hour, rising to $50 for self-employed or $80 for self-employed excellent painters contracting for organisations.

Don't shoot me if I've got this wrong, he just told me off the top of his head.
