Paint Sprayer wages ?
 

Hi as the title suggests we are wondering what the average wages would be for a paint sprayer (automobile) in Oz? Any ideas (or experiences) in this field or on areas in demand too would be much appreciated. Thanks x

Hi

If you are on wages, then between $800.00- $900.00 take home would be a good wage.

If you go contracting then you can earn more.

I don't know about other States/Cities, but if you were looking to move to Melbourne I could get you a job tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply John. It's good to know there are jobs in your area. We are still unsure on areas yet (and if we are actually going to take the plunge!). It's such a big decision. Originally we were looking at Perth but I've always quite liked the look of Melbourne (not for any particular reason just instinct??!)
Can I ask what the average weekly hours of work (for paint sprayers) would be?
Also is it feasable to start own business on a relatively small budget (ie £10,000), my partner currently has his own small paint spraying business and so has all the necessaary tools and equipment. If we do make the move I envisage us only having a totall budget of £30,000 so we couldn't afford to start up anything big at first.

Any other experience/ advice on Paint Spraying jobs/businesses/crash repairs etc from anyone (anywhere in Oz) would be most welcome.

Hi

Working hours and condition are probably the same as the UK.

I wouldn't start up my own business here as the actual profit margin is quite small and you would have to either specialize or go for a large turnover of work.

I would get into one of the prestige panel shops, good conditions, good pay and good work.
