Paddys Day on the Gold Coast

:confused:Anyone interested in starting an Irish association on the Gold Coast with a view to having a St. Paddys Day Parade?

Would love to but I'll be in Melbourne. You can sink one for me though.

Sounds a great idea,:) btw did you know that the best Irish pub
(and I mean something remotely like the pubs in Ireland) is the Darcy Arms on the Gold Coast Highway. The maitre d' is the lovely Fiona from Dublin, her brother was Johnny Logan singer for the older ones amongst you.

They often have live Irish music on a Saturday night and the food is delicious. Paddy's day is very popular there too.

Are you sure there isn't one already? There's associations for everything from Macedonians to Norwegians round here.

I think they have a parade in Brissie, but havent seen anything on the Gold Coast for the Irish, seen the Scottish society, the Italian club, the German club, Greek Festival, Japanese festival etc:)

Best pub Ive come across for a "quiet one" is the woodchoppers inn at Mudgeeraba. Used to be run by Don Murphy but he recently sold out...still good tho.
