Default Paassport question

Just become an Australian citizen having survived the two years probation! Seems that this brings more problems than solutions - I will HAVE to vote now anytime there is an election of any sort.
Also I need to get an Australian passport ($170) very soon as without one I cannot get back into Australia as my Permanent Residents visa in UK passport no longer valid.
Question is, when I go to the UK (hopefully in June and World Cup time!) can I use my Aussie passport to leave and re-enter Aus and then my UK passport to enter and leave UK? This sounds good as immigration queues will be mostly avoided. Or do I have to use the same passport alltrip? Or does no-one care??

You can use your UK one to enter and leave the UK and your Aussie one to enter and leave Aus.

Yup, that's how hubby and the girls left the UK and entered Aus. It was a bit irritating carrying seven passports though
