Re: Oz To New Zealand
The spiders are big but (in Melbourne) I have not seen too many bigger than the normal UK ones.
As to NZ- we went for a trip over Christmas and yesterday I noticed my UK passport had a stamp with 'indefinite leave to remain', which must be because we have Aussie PR- so it looks like you can zip over to NZ. However I am not verly thrilled with NZ as a place to live- wonderful to visit, but it seemed expensive and a bit too sleepy for me.

If you become Australian citizens you can live freely in New Zealand.

Don't know for sure, but you can check at http://www.citizenship.govt.nz
It's now 5 years to get NZ citizenship.
And remember that NZ citizenship no longer gives permanent residence in Australia - only indefinite stay as a temporary resident. http://www.nz-oz.gov.au
If you get your Australian citizenship first, unless the law changes New Zealand will still be there in a few years time.
