OZ lost to Spain

Australia has lost out to Spain when it comes to the ‘Happiest’ destination for British expats? Well? it seems the Brits are happiest in Spain according to a new survey by global foreign exchange provider OzForex and leading expat website BritishExpats.com

Australia didn’t even score a silver or bronze to Spain, instead lagging behind in fourth place in terms of how happy the expats are in their new country

Not surprised. I think it's the distance.

It's more than likely because certain parts of Spain are more English than the UK :D

It's not comparing like with like.

People emigrate to Aus, they don't emigrate to Spain.

Ah, but the bacon doesn't taste right here and there's no English pubs (not real ones anyhow) :D

I would agree with that. It's got so much to offer, but the distance is the big downside.

Re: OZ lost to Spain

Lived in both Spain and Oz, happy in both. Not that many respondents from spain less than 100 whereas over 400 from Oz. Also would have been interesting to know how many of those who said kept house in UK were from Spain compared to Australia. As survey done through this site and I think people who are unhappy in chosen destination may visit this site more for support rather than those who are well settled, the results may be skewed a bit but that is then true for both countries and is the problem with most surveys.
