What is the requirement for getting oz driving license as a PR holder?

I can only talk for Victoria, as this is where I live, but you make an appointment at your local Vicroads and they issue a new licence on the spot, and put a hole in your UK one. Get your hair done as they will take your photo there and then! You have to do it within 3 months but it is useful to do it as soon as you have an address as you will need it for ID in so many areas. Also it is mandatory that you carry your license at all times while driving, not like the UK where you have time to produce at the local Police Station.

The driving test must be pretty easy here when you see the state of the driving standards, so the Brits don't have to take a test to get a license as they feel that we are sufficiently competent to drive on Australian roads. Very nice of them I thought!

if you can already drive and are coming to queensland you just swap it over at any department of transport easy peasy
