Oz-bound BEFORE visa grant??
We have front loaded the meds & PCC's (see timeline below) and we are so Pi**ed off with waiting !!
(we are in the May 2007 crew!- http://www.freespaces.com/britishexpats/May07.html )
Both of us have finished work, (Mrs. is a primary teacher & on 'career break for 2yrs, for me - it was just the 'right' time for me to leave work & have some time to organise the move....)
We are considering flying to NZ for a month or 2 while we wait for the visa's to come through... but we are not sure what happens when we actually get the email re; visa grant. Last contact was from our CO asking for meds which had already been sent a few days before - I guess that we would have been turned down at that stage if there was a problem?
Do we have to physically go into the embassy in Dublin to get the visa's/passports stamped?? If so .... there goes another plan!! :curse:
Any info on the next step in the process would be greatly appreciated !!
thanks !!

(hopefully bound for Gold coast area this side of Christmas!!)

I think you can also take your passports to the embassy in NZ if you advise the DIAC that you will be there.
Perhaps someone can confirm this??

Visas could be evidenced at the Australian Consulate General in Auckland. Not a problem provided they have a reliable way to contact you while you are in NZ.
If you intend going to Australia you need to advise your case officer as the 136 visas cannot be granted onshore.

Australian Embassy in Dublin has no visa function. Visa services for the Republic of Ireland are provided by the Australian High Commission in London.
Visas could be evidenced at the Australian Consulate General in Auckland. Not a problem provided they have a reliable way to contact you while you are in NZ. I assume an email address is ok ??( the same one that the CO used to request the medicals)
