Can anyone shed light on the cons of owning a property in this area ie termites, leaving property empty for periods of times. We are going to look at a couple tomorrow, with a view to our long term retirement Plans but won't necessarily want to rent it out if we don't have to.

For those in the area what sort of offers would you be making if you were buying? Any help or pointers would be really appreciated
