Default Overseas personal insurance?

Has anyone taken out this insurnace cover. I looked up john wason ltd from Carriannes thread. Do you really need to have it?

Would you not just get normal travel insurance for the trip and then take out cover when you get to aus for contents and health insurance?

What is everyone else doing about this?

Thanks

Max

Normal travel insurance will normally only cover you for a maximum of 1 month or so on each single trip so that won't suffice.

Here in NZ they have reciprical agreements with the UK on health so you can use the local system if you are British or married to a Brit. (Not sure about OZ though?)

I still have private medical care for the family but as a perk of the job...
