Default Our Sunday afternoon at home in Queensland

Not every bodies cup of tea but we still count ourselves very lucky to be living here.
Every now and then dispite working harder than in the UK it all seems worthwhile.

I've not seen as many plants that close to a pool before. How do you go with cleaning the pool and trimming the plants ?

I've got way more that that...

..and its a complete pain in the arse. The pool is surrounded by cane palms with overhang the pool. They look alright and are pretty easy to clean up after (picking up a frond or two every now and then is no big deal).

However, Just the other side of our fence on the council owned footpath is a BIG Leopard tree - and those bastard little leaves get EVERYWHERE.... On another side and perilously too close to the pool is an ever growing fig tree that has grown sufficiently larger that I am no longer confident weilding the chainsaw on it myself. I'll have to get someone to take it down - it drops leaves and little fig nuts all over the pool and no doubt is doing its best underground to have roots destroy the pool completely. Its yet another thing to add to the ever-growing "Save up money for this one - 'cos this requires URGENT action" list.

Love the second pic. That's one happy dog you've got there

Great pics. Wish I could get our dogs in the pool, both of them are petrified!

Our dog loves the pool but he wouldn't do a big dive in like that! He goes down the steps.

We are very lucky as the creepy crawly gets most of the stuff and a net does the rest. We are also surrounded by gum trees but very little effort every day sorts it out. The house was built by a landscape gardener and it appears he knew what he was doing, which has made our life easier looking after it.

We just coaxed Tilly in a little at a time and she hated the water to begin with.

Now soon as our daughter puts her costume on the dog is waiting at the pool gate desperate to get in.
