Thumbs down Our First Xmas in Oz

and it was rubbish rubbish rubbish!!!!!! Both myself and my hubby were miserable as sin as we missed everyone at home so so much, the kids had a great time opening their presents but wanted to know when we could go to the beach!! Of course the weather was that bloody miserable that we hung off and hung off hoping it would clear but it didn't however they were quite happy playing with their new toys.

I spent most of the day tidying up and reading my new book and hubby spent most of the day watching tv and messing around on the computer.

Certainly not the xmas we both imagined and not the same as how we spent it at home but such is life! They say that the first xmas is the hardest and by god are they right!! Lets hope next year is a hell of a lot better!!!

Right that is me finished ranting and raving hope you all had a lovely xmas

Always a bit hard being the first. This is our second and I must admit it was really chilled out. No agenda, no visiting just me, hubby the kids and dog chillin out! Skyped the folks in the UK so they could see the kids open all their pressies so felt like they were part of it. Spent the rest of the day in jammies.......Ace!

Cheers

Ginny

This one just gone was our 11th Xmas here and OH and I were trying to remember last night what we'd done and whether or not we'd actually really enjoyed a Xmas in Oz. Sorry, but no we haven't. There have been okay ones, not so okay ones and downright horrid ones. This year we had 29 (including kids) to our house and I felt like a fish out of water. Although I usually enjoy socialising at home, this time I couldn't wait for everyone to go.

I was DREADING xmas. i just didnt know what we were going to do. i had visions of us all sat looking at each other all day thinking "WTF". We were asked to various friends houses but we felt a bit awkward and like little lost annies. I then had a brainwave (im allowed one a year) - we shall eat out, and eat out we did! It was great, kids saw Santa, had presents, we walked along the beach, we pigged out and had a free bar!

I think had we stayed at home it would have been a completely different story and we would have been miserable as sin.

i am so glad i saved this years brainwave until december

Oh blimey Tracey, I'll be opening a cask, sod the choccies. Our son got some good English DVD's for Xmas (says she who chose them), so I will have a choice. He and his girlfriend will be at a posh wedding in the city with her family, so no taxi run for me. Oh what fun I'll have.
