Our ANZ account is open!!
Empty !! but open 
for us this is a big thing .we've had nothing on the Oz front now for a good few weeks so when something like this comes through the door it just makes us smile and brings the whole Oz thing back into play! ... no piggy bank or Griffin dictionary though

Are there any account keeping fees on you ANZ account straight away or from when you actually start using it?? I would check this as otherwise you could find yourself overdrawn straight away if they start charging you the customary $5 per month that most seem to charge

Good on ya, get some money transfered.
Just wondering, how long was it before you got letter through post as we are still waiting after about a fortnight. I do know we have got one through an email, just wondering if the letter has got lost somewhere.

We have just opened an ANZ account as we will be arriving on the 10th May.
I think from sending the forms off to receiving the letter of confirmation was just about 3 weeks. Pretty quick concerning it took our x rays 6 weeks to get to australia

just go onto the ANZ website and follow the links for opening a new account from overseas. (but only if you are to recide in Australia in the future)..
down load the forms then send them off in the post. The forms only take 5 minutes to fill in. Easy !
You can put money into the account but not allowed to withdraw until you activate your account when you arrive in Australia.
