Order of doing things for SA 190 visa?
Hey guys,
So we're planning on relocating to Adelaide from Scotland in July 2018 (all being well) and will be applying for PR through the 190 state sponsorship visa.
We've read S-O-O-O much conflicting advice on the order of doing things. We have 65 points and so we were going to do our application in this order. Can you guys let us know if this is best?
Get skills assessed by AIM (£320) – 8 weeks max.
Complete SkillSelect EOI (no cost), choose South Australia only and state nominated visa subclass 190 – 4 weeks max.
Apply for state nomination (£115) – 6-7 weeks
Medicals completed (£970 approx)
Get visas granted (hopefully!!!)
Book flights (£2,500 approx)
Any advice very much appreciated! Thanks all

I am in the process of applying for 190 state sponsorship with SA with plans to live in Adelaide. I have just sent off my application for state nomination. You can apply for state nomination as soon as your EOI is filed (I did mine on the same day). There is no waiting period.
You should also add to your list:
- Full visa application (£2,000 for main applicant + £1,000 for spouse + £500 for each dependent) - 2-6 months
- Police clearances from each country you have spent more than 12 months in during the last 10 years since age 16.
Medicals and police clearances can be done at any time but are only valid for 12 months. They must still be valid on the day you enter Australia so if you are aiming for July 2018 you should make sure you don't begin the process too early. Australia immigration give a last day of entry when your application is approved. This is never after the medicals or police clearances expire and can often be sooner.
Which occupation are you planning to file under and how are your points made up?

The full application with DIBP is after the state nomination is approved. Medicals and police clearances can be done before or after you submit the full application.

Regarding your list, you haven't actually got applying for the visa on there.
After you have secured state sponsorship you would get an invitation to apply for a visa and then you complete that process. Before you lodge the EOI you need to ensure you have 60 points at least and if you don't, you need to take an IELTS test to boost your points and this would need to be done up front like the skills assessment.
Police checks would be done around same time as medicals.
