Hi
Just wanted to say that we shipped with John Masons and have serious reservations now that our things have arrived. Also real problems, not so much with us contacting them but with them replying to us! Would not be keen to recommend...will post a full report on here once we have everything sorted with them. They seem to have a non-existent customer service once things go wrong! It would be easier trying to contact Elvis!!!!
Having said that others may differ

Mr Madsad
We are also only planning to take a few boxes and I have noticed that there are a number of excess baggage companies advertised in TNT (mag for backpackers). I got a quote online from www.excess-baggage.com
I have not seen any mention of these companies of this site so don't know how reliable they are.

I used Excesss Baggage Co for one box by airfreight at the last minute, dropped it at the Heathrow office as I flew out. Excellent service, everything in good condition.

I used http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com/uk/index.html and found them to be more that good.

You could maybe consider declaring it as excess luggage and putting it on the same plane that you're flying out on.
You could then just pick it up when you land. That way you don't have to wait for it and worry that it won't arrive
