Default One-way insurance... again

Walkabout won't cover my laptop, they have a single item limit of £300.
Does anyone know of any company that does one way travel insurance and
will cover a single item of up to £1000?

Thanks,

No-one travel with a laptop, jewellery, etc? Or did you just take the
risk?

Thanks,

Have you tried Direct Travel InsuranceDirect Travel Insurance? You'll need to phone them up as they don't quote one way insurance on their website. Don't know what they offer but worth a try?

Try asking for separate laptop insurance. Also try www.flexicover.com, tel 0870 2200793.

We rang insureandgo but they would only insure until we landed in Australia. Bit daft seeing as they claim they specialise in Expat insurance. We're going with Direct Travel as they will insure for 17 days after we land in Aus enabling Medicare cover to be arranged which can be done after 10 days. And they were cheaper for better coverage.

The post office also offer one-way/emmigration insurance that lasts for 17 days after arrival. Not sure about single item limits though.

It's either £200 or £300 too.

Waiting for a few companies to get back to me, if I get anywhere I'll
report back. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Question Re: One-way insurance... again

I'm having huge problems too, as I have nothing of value in our luggage except our work items - that amounts to around 25 thousand value! Camera, Laptops, projector etc.... Our home insurance does not cover these goods as they are work related (as we recently discovered), and we will be travelling for around 30 days (to USA 1st) can't find anything to cover that amount (max item is £3,000) or for that lenght of time.....help! Do we carry it all hand luggage and pray lots!
