if you earned less than $100k in the 2007/8 tax year - does not specify if you need to be on a PR Visa

you will be eligible if you was Australian resident for tax purposes during 07-08 year (check your tax return for that year)

no need to apply for it...
if you lodge your tax return for 07-08, your will receive money on your bank account or by cheque...
check the ATO website for details...

I did it with a tax accountant company as they did my tax return so my tax return amount was sent to them and then they sent it to me back in 2008 to my account... so do i need to contact them? and any guesses when will it be coming to the accounts?

Hello

I have just read the info on the ATO website and if you applied through a tax agent to get your tax rebate you can contact the ATO to update your details so the bonus gets sent to you not your tax agent. The phone number is 1300 686 636.

It says the first bonuses are being sent out in April.

I hope I get a bonus. I too was here on a 457 visa- we received our 457 in May 2008, so I am hoping that is long enough to be included in this bonus offer!!

You had to have had a tax liability in the 07/08 tax year - ie: you must have paid tax, even if it's only $1

And that's if the bill is passed
