You're not alone.
We have also had to decide to move out definitely next week, because of things taking so long in the house sale. We still have not exchanged contracts, much like you because the first time buyer had not got around to doing their search (stupid lawyers).
Again, the lawyers seem to have ages to do everything (at least 2 months and counting with ours) while we, the customer, have to organise shippers in next to no time.
But we have decided to take a calculated gamble, and trust things come together on time. Worse case, sale falls through and we move to NZ anyway, and have to sell it from the other side of the world. When we thought about that, we decided that was preferable to being here twiddling our thumbs.
Must admit, we feel much better knowing we can at least make some progress.
Hope it all works out for you and others at a similar stage.
