I'm on the opposite side of the country and we have all those things so I expect it's the same in Perth.

The equivalent of the WI is the CWA (Country Women's Association)

If you find a way for your MIL to go with you, I'll be interested as we applied for my widowed mum, who lived with us to come as an aged dependent relative (she was in late 60's and active), but were refused because she has a state pension in the UK so is deemed independent. She can only come for holidays. Can't even go for contributory parent visa later on as I have 2 brothers in the UK who we haven't seen for years and they wouldn't even know if mum is still around :curse: However DIAC deem that they can look after her (ridiculous notion in our case). We accept the rules and there is no flexibility for individual circumstances, but it is frustrating all the same.

Sorry, never been on a cruise. Would be my holiday nightmare as I am the worst traveller - serious motion sickness! :o Just about going to be able to do the 18 hour flight to Perth :)

Hi Aussiebound,

MIL will probably apply for one of the parent visas as more than half her kids are/will be permanent residents. My BIL emmigrated with his family in April on a 136 MODL, I am going with OH and son on a 136 (fingers crossed). So as 2 out of 3 sons are in Oz, we are hoping she'll be able to go that way, bring the other son. If not her OH may be able to get sponsored, would rather not but it's an option.

Hope this helps :)

Jo
