Question Old fashioned paper driving licences...

Hi all!

My hubby and I still only have the old fashioned type paper licences, not the ones with the photo on.

Would it be advisable to get the new type or as we will have to apply for new aussie licences when we get there, would it be a waste of time.

Have tried doing a search but to no avail.

Thanks in advance for you wonderful words of wisdom!

We are here and both Hev and I only have the paper licences. We have used them with no problems. You have 3 months to get your aussie licence (Its just a theory test).

My wife took her driving theory test last week or so, and the guy asked if she would like to do the bike thoery test at the same time - with no additional cost. All it entailed was an additional 5 questions, for which you had to get 4 correct.

The paper licence is fine. For a car licence you just need to sit the theory test which is a fairly straight forward computer based multichoice test.

For the PSV licence you need to take both the theory and practical test. Same for bikes I think.
