Offer for AMEX platinum charge card referral (120,000 points)
This post is an offer to refer you to the AMEX Platinum charge card which I've recently taken advantage of as an expat to fly from Sydney to the UK for a visit home one way in first class for minimal fees!
The AMEX Platinum Charge currently has a very generous bonus point sign up offer (up to 120,000 bonus points on sign up) until August 1.
While you’ll need to be able to stomach a very high annual fee ($1,200), signing up for this card will earn you enough points to fly one way from Melbourne or Sydney to London first class on the Singapore Airlines A380 First Class Suites, or to travel return from any Australian city to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific’s excellent business product, with minimal taxes! The first class suites ticket would usually cost you $7,000 if you bought it outright!
You must sign up with an American Express referral link to get your whopping 120,000 AMEX premium membership points sign on bonus. My direct referral link is: <snip>
I'm a passionate luxury travel hobbyist who knows my way around all the airline schemes, and am more than happy to assist you with suggestions / ideas on the best way to get max value from your points.
There are a bunch of other valuable benefits of this card:
Unlimited airport lounge access (cardholder/supplementary cardholder and a guest) to Virgin (if flying Virgin), Amex, Priority Pass, Delta Skyclub lounges
Free Platinum Reserve credit card (on request) which just means a free domestic flight or a night in a luxury hotel
A $300 travel credit to spend on AMEX travel (for hotels and flights booked through Amex’s travel site)
Access to AMEX Fine Hotels & Resorts service (ie book luxury hotels through the Amex platinum site) which means: 4pm late check out, breakfast, often a $100 USD hotel credit (for room service eg food/drinks), room upgrades, noon check in.
Elite Loyalty status: Starwood Preferred Guest, Club Carlson, Shangri-La Golden Circle, and Hilton HHonors
Up to four supplementary cards

ANZ probably have a better deal right now 75000 points upfront, $495 annual free and 1.5 points per dollar spent.
Certainly beats that $1200 pa rubbish.

$495? They've been doing that one with $0 annual fee in the first year for most of the last year or so. Looks like they've stopped though.
